Fear can take many forms in people’s lives. Fear of insignificance, safety, the unknown; fear will grab hold of someone and force them to make hasty or unwise decisions. Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you could take control of those fears instead of the other way around?

Max Lucado tackles these questions and more in his new book, Fearless. This is easily the best book I’ve read all year. Lucado’s writing style continues to be what you expect from a Max Lucado book: Relatable life lessons, and an readability that is both easy and engaging. The truths and challenges transform this relaxing read into something both deep and self-evaluating. This helped me acknowledge some of the fears that I had been quietly letting take control in my own life. Fear is a current issue, but Lucado brings to life Biblical stories and applies them with ease to today’s problems. Fearless brings to light that fear can give a distorted view of God, and greatly affect our walk with Him (Think of Peter walking on water). We all have fears, but an understanding of God’s control and love can help us not be controlled by these fears.
