This thanksgiving, I have a very busy schedule. It’s my first thanksgiving being a part of a couple. So  Daniel and I  have decided, instead of picking one family over the other, to do both! Maybe we are crazy, but its impossible to pick just one. On top of that I have to work the holiday morning shift. Did I mention I will be going to Chicago for the weekend to spend time with my sister and brother in law?

MMH5 – What Kind of Christian Thanksgiving Eater Are You?

Continuing our list of all things 5 to hopefully bring a smile to your Monday.

Earlier this week, Bonnie Gray over at the always encouraging blog, Faith Barista, wrote a great post entitled, What Kind of Bible Coffee Drinker Are You? From that article, I ripped off was inspired to write a very similar Monday Morning High Five, but asking the question, What kind of Christian Thanksgiving eater are you? Bonnie was gracious enough to let me borrow her original idea, and allowed me to put my own personal, holiday spin on it. Count Your Blessings…Literally! (Family Activity)

3072567114_6c794f4003November is a month for reflection. The days are growing shorter and the air becomes cooler. We gather our families and friends together and take stock of all the good things in our lives.

A few years ago, my Dad started off the Thanksgiving meal (after the prayer) by asking us to list at least one thing we were thankful for that past year. This simple activity directed our whole conversation to one of uplifting our God. We recounted all He had done for us that year. We truly became thankful. (more…)

This past Sunday we opened our services with this simple chorus. I’m sure many of you have heard it before. I love the simple truths in its lines. It’s not often that we sit down and just thank God for the basic thing, our salvation. (more…)
