News: Euphrates Drying Up. Sign of Christ’s Return? The New York Times Seems to Think So.
The New York Times reported July 13th, (Always up to the minute news here at Godly Sheep
) that the Euphrates River is drying up. The Euphrates, often linked with the Tigris River and the Cradle of Civilization, has played important roles throughout the Bible including: Creation (Gen 2:14), Israelite territory (Josh 1:4), and the End Times (Rev. 16:12). Now, the Euphrates, an important water source for Iraq, Syria, and Turkey, is drying up and officials are reporting that it could soon be half its current size. Interestingly enough, the article from the New York Times also reports this as a sign of the end times and included a link to Rev. 16:12 with Biblegateway.com:
“The shrinking of the Euphrates, a river so crucial to the birth of civilization that the Book of Revelation prophesied its drying up as a sign of the end times, has decimated farms along its banks, has left fishermen impoverished and has depleted riverside towns as farmers flee to the cities looking for work.”
Though droughts are frequent in Iraq, it’s interesting to start seeing these articles, and according to the book of Revelation, there will be a lot more interesting ones to follow.

The big Turkey Day is this Thursday, and this year is the first time I’m hosting Thanksgiving at my house. Though my mom will still be doing the honors of baking the lil’ gobbler, I know that she will brine the turkey to keep it from drying out.
