Verse of the Week: Romans 4:8

2009 November 3

Blessings!

“Thank you, Lord for saving my soul. Thank you, Lord for making me whole. Thank you Lord for giving to me, Thy great salvation so rich and free”

This past Sunday we opened our services with this simple chorus. I’m sure many of you have heard it before. I love the simple truths in its lines. It’s not often that we sit down and just thank God for the basic thing, our salvation.

This month, our focus verses will be about God’s bountiful blessings to us. The greatest of these being salvation. The verse for week one is:

Romans 4:8 “Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.”

Thank God our sin is not counted against us. We have been cleansed and made whole. All our past, present and future sins are erased, and we stand before God, pure. Yes, we still sin, everyone makes mistakes, but ours are never brought up again . We are not trusting in our own righteousness, but in Jesus Christ. We are saved. We are truly blessed!
